Silent Screams

A huge bow sits ontop of her head.
It is shimmery red.  Red gloves with nofingers.
That plum dress is too short.

You are acting so secretive, nervous.
No moon tonight.

The leather of your boots sticks to your sweaty legs, your neck wet.
First time doing this?
Here:  Flutter those fake, drooping eyelashes.  Get that hair out of your face.
The wind doesn't blow.
The world doesn't know.
Clop.  Clop.

Yellow windows all around  They seem papaered up, though fake people are watching you.
Spit the gum out.

All of the street lamps  you pass are
out.  They gave up for you.

Leave this street.
Don't scream,  that was just a cat.
  I hear you.
There is no one else here.  I checked.
Twice.

Their words don't matter now.  You're mine
I smell you now.  Same as always.  You are musk and expensive oranges.
Clop.
Don't look at me like this.
Don't hurt me.  It was your choice.

  1. It feels like this might work as a short story, maybe a very short story. It's sparse and scary, and it feels very real.
