~Farms~

Farms
rows of cabbage
gree-to-purple all through.

Farms
eggs and pitchforks
the haystack
     where Maggie hid
the needle
we're forever searching.

Farms
the creek
down
the
hill
past the brown field
of wheat.
The creek
   full of colored sea glass
brought from the sea
and crayfish
         so sweet
a delight with tea.

Farms
wedding ring
in the tree
waiting out
until 3:00
when he comes
     for she
will  expect.

Farms
and the kettle
whistles the night
to sleep.

  1. I love - among other things - how it captures the impermanence and fragility of life
